Referral
Families may request a comprehensive developmental evaluation at any time to determine if their child is eligible for early intervention services. A child may also be referred by many other sources, including physicians, public health nurses, social workers, child care providers, friends, Family Resources Coordinators, hospitals, and school districts.
Contact Jonna Hansmeier at 509.735.1062 x 281 to refer a child (birth to age three) to the Children's Developmental Center.
Evaluation
Standardized tests are given by licensed physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/language therapists, and certified special education teachers to determine eligibility of each child.
Individualized Programs
The pediatric professional staff at the Children's Developmental Center works as a TEAM with the family and their Family Resources Coordinator to develop an individualized program to meet desired outcomes identified by the family and other team members.
CADET Referrals
The primary care physician must refer a child (18 months to 10 years old) for a Comprehensive Autism Diagnostic Evaluation Team (CADET) assessment. CADET is a multidisciplinary evaluation team which differentially diagnoses autism spectrum disorders (Autism, Asperger's syndrome, and PDD-NOS). To schedule an intake appointment, contact the office of Dr. Scott Grewe, The Tri-Cities Neuropsychology Clinic, at 509.946.5515.
