This month, we say, “See you later,” to Project Manager, Reka Robinson.
The Center will miss you dearly, Reka! Thank you for your dedication and commitment of service to our community and for the years that you spent at the Children’s Developmental Center.
It’s no secret that I am the Reka many of you knew from my radio days, waking you up and keeping you company on your way to work and school for eight wonderful years. Transitioning from that career came with a lot of sadness. The change to Project Specialist at the Children’s Developmental Center prompted me to get certified as a Project Manager, embracing my new path.
Let me just say, ‘WOW’! Every day, I got to sit with superheroes (our providers) and help raise the funds they needed to continue their incredible work. So much was accomplished in the short two-and-a-half years that I was a part of this amazing non-profit. I am proud to say that myself, alongside the Development and Marketing team (Joel and Chris), exceeded our fiscal year goal by 12%—and counting! There is a lot to be proud of here at The Center.
Even as I embark on a new adventure just across the mountains in Seattle, I’ll always root for the amazing parents we serve and the remarkable growth of the kids. The needs of the tiniest members of our community will forever be close to my heart. I’ll be supporting The Center and cheering for its continued success.
Zahra, you are an exceptional Executive Director. Thank you for hiring me right after I transitioned from an 18-year-long career. You know how much you mean to me—we’ve had many heartfelt conversations.
To the staff at The Center, I appreciate your patience with my learning curve. Remember the EHR transition? HA!
To the community, don’t be surprised if you see me at Cuisine 2024 or around town. After all, I am still the granddaughter of Virgie Robinson. I’ll be back.
With gratitude and excitement for the future,
Reka
